We bring the SHOUSE down for another epic session of Communitas—the mass-musicking event where everyone’s in the band, including you.

Last year over 1000 music-lovers gathered in St Paul’s for our first Communitas. It was a massive act of co-creation and musical elation. The horns blew, the tambourines shook, the harmonies surged. Now Jack and Ed from SHOUSE, with their Communitas comrades, Deep Soulful Sweats are back at it, ready to help us reach further and lift higher.

The idea emerged in the of wake of SHOUSE’s lock-down-era global hit ‘Love Tonight’. They returned home after touring and wanted to focus on music’s power, ritual and spontaneity instead of its commodification. One year on, their goal for Communitas remains simple but ambitious. Give the people music to make instead of consume.

This time, the big day will happen at Melbourne Town Hall, which can hold more voices, more music makers.

Like last time, the Communitas team is hosting a series of workshops in the lead up. Anyone of any musical ability can get involved. Bring an instrument. Bring your friends. Bring your family. Come solo.

Dissolve the walls between us. Let the joy rush in.

A glorious expression of love, music and togetherness
